Open Gym!!

Our first open gym will be in the Varsity Gym from 2-4p on Sunday 11/10. Come with an open mind and willingness to learn. We will spend the first half doing some skill development, and the second half PLAYING!

Stephen Van Hoorde (Varsity Head Coach)

Coach Van Hoorde is entering his 6th season as a coach for Carmel boy’s volleyball. He began playing volleyball for Carmel high school as a freshman in 2004, and made four state tournament appearances from 2005-2008. Stephen made IBVCA all-stars in 2007 and 2008, as well as making the all-tournament team in 2008. He played for Indiana Volleyball Academy from 2007-2008 coached by Jon Harmon, three-time IBVCA state champion. Stephen is the girl’s Varsity Asst. Coach for CHS as well, and just finished his 4th season coaching girl’s volleyball. He has also coached a handful of travel teams with Indy Assault Volleyball Club. In 2017 his 18U team finished 11th in ‘Club’ at USAV Nationals in Dallas, TX. Stephen graduated from Ball State University in 2014 with a degree in physical education. He is currently a Wellness Teacher at Creekside Middle School. Stephen still enjoys playing in competitive adult tournaments around Indianapolis. Stephen is happily married to his wife Jessica Harding, a nurse in the PICU at Riley Children’s Hospital downtown.
